Loblaws Maple Leaf Gardens store to open Nov. 30

Loblaw announced the Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens store will open Nov. 30 on the ground floor of the former famed arena in Toronto.

Some features of the new store include: The Artisan Oven, where ACE Bakery’s artisan breads will be made from scratch every day; The Amazing Wall of Cheese, an 18-foot wall carries more than 400 varieties of cheese from around the globe including a 100-pound wheel of Stilton (one of only 100 in the world); The Patisserie, where chocolate is chiseled by the chunk and handcrafted chocolates featured all-natural ingredients; The Tea Emprorium, where up to 10 different sample teas will be brewed through the day and more than 100 flavours of premium loose-leaf tea are on hand; in-store Sushi Bar features both traditional flair and modern chef-inspired creations by T&T Supermarket, there is also a 16-foot self-serve sushi display; and chef-made meals from the open kitchen, where take-away meals are made with fresh ingredients by 14 chefs.

Above the supermarket, Ryerson University is set to open its athletic centre in spring 2012 that will feature a 2,500-seat arena.
