Longo’s is celebrating World Pear Day (Dec. 3) with a 12-hour global livestream of cooking demos.
Chefs from around the world will participate in the “Pear-a-thon,” which runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET on culinary tech platform Kittch.
Christie Contini, specialist, consumer education at Longo’s, will also join to prepare a pear and prosciutto pizza featuring Longo’s Curato Prosciutto, Longo’s Curato Balsamic Glaze and Anjou Pears with Longo’s Traditional Pizza Dough.
The grocer will broadcast the livestream, coordinated by USA Pears, from The Loft Cooking School inside its Leaside (Toronto) location at 93 Laird Drive.
Guests will find a sampling of fresh pears and holiday-themed pear appetizers in Corks Beer and Wine Bar adjacent to The Loft.
