Longo's refreshes Woodbridge store

Last week Woodbridge residents celebrated the opening of a new Longo's location.

The 47,000-sq.-ft. store replaces the previous Longo’s location at Langstaff and Weston Road, and features a variety of expanded services and fresh food offerings. The larger location holds a full service meat and seafood service counter, a full service deli and cheese section, a Starbucks coffee shop and a Wine Shop.

“We’re very excited to be opening the largest Longo’s in the area,” said Anthony Longo, president and CEO, in a release. “Woodbridge residents are some of our most enthusiastic shoppers.”

Apart from the expanded grocery sections, the Woodbridge store is putting an emphasis on serving the community. The location will host community and shopper resources including a Loft Cooking school, classes, and information seminars. The full service bakery also includes a chocolatier program.

Visitors who attended the grand opening last Tuesday enjoyed prosciutto cutting, mozzarella stretching and free cooking classes.
