Make Happy Tummies recently made pit stops in Calgary and Pictou County, N.S.

On March 17, retailer partners of The Grocery Foundation campaign (formerly called Toonies for Tummies) helped prepare breakfast for more than 300 students at Don Bosco School in Calgary.

The meal included products from Make Happy Tummies’ sponsor companies, with groceries provided by partner grocery stores located near the school.

Then on March 19, Sobeys Inc. team members and a number of other sponsors from the campaign whipped up breakfast for 90 students at Pictou Landing First Nations School.

Make Happy Tummies hopes to raise $4 million this year. Funds will go towards the more than 3,000 student nutrition programs supported by the campaign coast-to-coast.
