Metro is partnering with a delivery and fulfillment platform called Bringg, as the Quebec-based grocer continues to look for ways to enhance its e-grocery offering.

The partnership, announced Wednesday morning, coincides with Metro's increased investment in its delivery and click-and collect-services to meet growing demand.

The Bringg platform will allow Metro to "provide increased capacity for contactless purchases and increased communication with consumers to make their entire purchase journey enjoyable, whether that be in-store or online," according to a press release announcing the partnership.

"Bringg's solution will help us remain agile and offer more options to our customers to get their grocery with a seamless experience that fit their needs," said Christina Bédard, vice-president, e-commerce and digital strategy at Metro. "Our customers rely on us to be their trusted food retailer and we are excited to offer stronger capabilities to meet their expectations."

Metro recently announced plans to convert a 100,000-sq.-ft industrial space into a dedicated hub that will fulfill online grocery orders for delivery to customers in Montreal. The grocer, which also has a significant presence in Ontario, said it would increase the number of stores offering click-and-collect from 40 to more than 100 by the end of fiscal 2021.
