Moms focused on cost when it comes to back-to-school shopping
When it comes to back-to-school shopping, almost three-quarters of respondents surveyed by Walmart Canada said that cost, whether it's big or small, continues to impact purchasing decisions.
Other findings in the "Walmart Back-to-School Pulse Check" survey included:
*While 30 per cent respondents will visit only one store, nearly 52 per cent will make multiple trips to multiple stores.
*When compared to single-trip shoppers, multiple-trip shoppers will spend at least 40 per cent more per child.
*Roughly one-third of respondents are planning to spend between $100 and $199.
*The average spend for all respondents is $190 per child.
