Nature’s Emporium has appointed Steve Hollingsworth as chief executive officer, effective Aug. 11.

He succeeds co-founder Joe D’Addario, who will transition to chair of the board after more than 30 years leading the company as president, and then most recently, as CEO.

D’Addario will support the grocery chain’s next phase of growth and will continue to provide strategic oversight, while supporting its mission of inspiring healthy, sustainable living.

“Steve brings an impressive blend of leadership, vision, and purpose that aligns perfectly with who we are and where we're headed. I'm excited about the capabilities he brings to our team,” said D’Addario, in a press release.

“As I step into the role of chair, I look forward to supporting our long-term growth and helping ensure we continuously elevate the value we deliver to our employees, customers and communities," he added.

Hollingsworth brings more than 20 years of experience in the health and wellness industry, most recently as president of Genuine Health—a Toronto-based manufacturer of natural supplements.

"It's an honour and a privilege to be entrusted with leading an organization with such deeply rooted ties to the communities it serves as Nature's Emporium. I am genuinely excited to help Nature's push the boundaries on what a health & wellness retailer can do for its customers," said Hollingsworth.
