Who: Nature's Path

What: The North American breakfast and snack food company is accepting applications for its annual Gardens for Good grant program, which will award 15 community gardens $7,500 each.

With rising food prices, Nature's Path says it's more important than ever to support organic food and farming, to make it accessible to those in need within these communities.

Ten gardens in the U.S. and five gardens in Canada will receive grants. Eligible gardens have until June 4 to submit an application online.

"Community gardens play a vital role in increasing access to organic food for everyone," said Jyoti Stephens, VP mission & strategy at Nature's Path, in a press release. "Not only do community gardens bring people together to connect in nature, they can also increase food security by providing access to fresh and nutritious organic food, where they otherwise may not be easily available."

Since launching the program in 2010, Nature's Path has donated more than $615,000 to 74 gardens across North America.
