Neil Hetherington named Daily Bread Food Bank CEO

Neil Hetherington has been named chief executive officer of Daily Bread Food Bank, replacing Gail Nyberg who is retiring after leading the non-profit organization since 2005.

Hetherington was most recently CEO of Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Service in Toronto and prior to that served as CEO of Habitat for Humanity Toronto and New York City. He starts with Daily Bread Jan. 8.

"Neil has a track record of poverty alleviation that will be directed to expanding Daily Bread's reach," said Andy Burgess, vice-chair of the Board of Daily Bread Food Bank, in a press release. "We are confident that his experience in managing and growing vital social programs in two major North American cities will be invaluable to Daily Bread."
