Costco cut the ribbon on its newest warehouse on Thursday morning.
At 167,000-sq.-ft., the new store in Kelowna, B.C. is 24% larger than its previous location--located less than two kilometres away--and features increased parking, new product offerings, a new gas station and a new self-checkout section.
Other features include an on-site bakery, fresh meat and rotisserie chicken sections, and an extensive produce area. It also includes a food court, tire centre, pharmacy and a hearing aid centre
“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in the Kelowna and surrounding area and can bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Pierre Riel, senior vice-president and country manager, Costco Wholesale Canada, in a press release.
