New Giant Tiger opening in Bedford, N.S.

A new Giant Tiger store is roaring into Bedford, N.S., with an official grand opening celebration being held on Saturday, Oct. 21.

Located along the Bedford Highway, the 24,000-sq.-ft. Giant Tiger will feature the chain's usual fare of groceries, clothing and everyday household items at discount prices.

The new store in Nova Scotia is part of Giant Tiger's aggressive expansion strategy across the country. With more than 235 locations currently open across Canada, the Ottawa-based chain has plans to open 10 to 15 new stores every year for the next three to five years.

The Bedford store's grand opening will feature fun activities for guests of all ages, from strolling entertainment and free face-painting, to product sampling, gift card giveaways and a visit from the chain's mascot: Friendly, the Giant Tiger. Giant Tiger Stores Limited and store manager Ben Blanchard will also be making a charitable donation to support MADD Halifax, and there will be a charity barbecue, with all proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
