New Giant Tiger opens in London, Ont.

Giant Tiger opened its newest store over the weekend–a 16,600-sq.-ft. space in London, Ontario.

Located at 1175 Hyde Park Road, the store opened May 25 with community celebrations, promotional giveaways and Giant Value product sampling. The store carries Giant Tiger’s usual fare of groceries, clothing and everyday household items.

The Ottawa-based discount chain embarked on an expansion strategy in 2016, and at the time said it would open 10 to 15 new stores every year for the next three to five years.

In addition to store openings, Giant Tiger opened a distribution centre last September just south of Ottawa, which it said would help fill gaps in its existing grocery offering.
