New president at Acosta Canada

12/5/2012

Well-known food industry executive Bill Dunne has decided to leave his  position as president of Acosta Canada at the end of this month.

He said it is time for him "to follow my passions and to give something back." He didn't elaborate, but said "after 25 years in the business it's time for a change."

Dunne started his career with Bittner's Meat and Deli, then joined his father's brokerage firm William M. Dunne & Associates.

Later he joined Molinaro's Fine Italian Foods before joining Thomas, Large & Singer.

He also worked for a while with Tropicana (QTG) before returning to Thomas., Large & Singer where, after Acosta bought Thomas, Large & Singer's brokerage lines, he was named president of  Acosta Canada.

He will be succeeded at Acosta by Shaun McKenna who for the past year has lead sales and marketing for Mosiac, which has merged with Acosta, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

McKenna will lead the newly integrated Acosta and Mosaic sales and merchandising business unit, working alongside Jeff Rogers, who leads Mosaic in Canada to bring integrated solutions to the marketplace.

For the past year McKenna has led Mosaic’s sales and merchandising business in Canada, after leading the integration of Mosaic and CIM.

In 2011, McKenna joined Mosaic from CIM where as a partner and senior vice-president, he led the sales management division providing sales and merchandising expertise to a number of Fortune 500 clients in a multitude of trade channels, including the food, retail, entertainment, home improvement, and telecom.

He began his career at the Coca Cola Bottling Company where he held various positions of increased responsibility in sales and distribution management prior to joining CIM.
