Nominations for 3rd annual Community Service Awards now open

4/2/2012

It’s time to tell us about the great things your store is doing in the community by entering the 3rd annual Canadian Grocer Community Service Awards.

Nominations are now open and entering is easy.

Just click here (or go to canadiangrocer.com/csa) and fill out a brief nomination form telling us about your store’s community service initiative.

The Community Service Awards recognize grocery stores and convenience stores across the country who are doing wonderful things to support their towns and neighbourhoods.

“Whether it’s working with food banks and charities, providing scholarship opportunities to students or stepping up in some other way when there’s a need, we know that grocers are out there every day supporting their communities. We want to recognize their achievements,” says Rob Gerlsbeck, editor of Canadian Grocer.

To qualify, a store (or stores) must be in Canada and the initiative must have taken place between January 2011 and June 2012. It can also be an annual event. The initiative can be something led by your store or done in partnership with a community organization.

If you are a manufacturer or distributor, you can nominate a retailer you know as well here.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of retailing and philanthropic experts and be featured in Canadian Grocer and Chatelaine magazines. Deadline to enter is June 15, 2012

The 2012 Canadian Grocer Community Service Awards are sponsored by Campbell’s and Chatelaine magazine.
