Pattison Food Group partners with Dematic to deploy automated fulfillment solutions at B.C. distribution centre
Pattison Food Group is bolstering grocery fulfillment operations at its distribution centre in Langley, B.C.
The retailer has partnered with supply chain and warehouse automation solutions company Dematic to reduce manual handling, enhance order accuracy and increase fulfillment agility at the 465,000 square-foot facility.
Dematic’s automated solution includes high-density storage capacity with Dematic Rapidpick and a nine-aisle Dematic Multishuttle system providing nearly 62,000 automated storage locations.
The solution supports split-case and full-case fulfillment for approximately 11,000 grocery SKUs through 16 goods-to-person workstations and increases throughput and fulfillment through integrated decant, conveyor, sortation, tote handling, buffering and sequencing systems.
"Dematic's strength extends beyond automation to a deep understanding of the operational realities shaping modern grocery fulfillment," said Mike Olson, senior vice president of supply chain and wholesale at Pattison Food Group, the parent company of Save-On-Foods, Quality Foods and other banners. "That expertise helped us build a scalable, intelligent operation that improves performance today while supporting the flexibility needed for future growth."
