Loblaw’s first-ever No Name store opened its doors in Windsor, Ont. last week.

Located at the Windsor Crossing Premium Outlet Mall in the community of LaSalle, the store is the first of three pilot No Name supermarkets slated to open in the province this fall.

Two additional locations are planned for the towns of St. Catharines and Brockville.

The concept stores offer deep discounts on grocery items by reducing operating costs.

Stores receive fewer weekly deliveries and are flyer-free. Each pilot store is also constructed with reused fixtures to minimize building costs.

They will also carry a limited assortment of 1,300 products, with savings of up to 20%, Loblaw said in August.

Shoppers can expect a small range of frozen food items, pantry staples, household necessities and shelf-stable bakery and produce items, but there will be no dairy or fresh meat products.
