Zellers officially returned to Ontario Thursday (June 18) with the opening of its 25,000 square-foot store in Toronto.

The store attracted a line of customers who eagerly waited in the rain for Zellers’ doors to open. There, they were greeted by the 25-foot inflatable Zeddy Bear, kiddie rides, a Zellers Diner on Wheels food truck, complimentary Zellers Ice Pops and giveaways.

Located at Orfus Road in North York, the store features Zellers’ core categories including apparel, accessories, home and seasonal, as well as several new offerings—notably grocery.

Customers could shop a selection of snack, beverage and specialty food offerings, including flavoured popcorn, candies and sweet treats, international chips, “better-for-you snacks” and an assortment of grab-and-go drinks
