Canada’s largest Asian grocery retailer is marking a major milestone in its U.S. expansion. T&T Supermarket officially opened the doors to its first California location on June 18 at Westgate Center in San Jose.

T&T is known as a destination for fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods made in-store daily and restaurant-quality prepared foods, where customers can discover a wide range of Asian groceries and ready-to-eat meals. The retailer operates 39 stores across North America, with two stores in Washington state.

Located at 1600 Saratoga Avenue in San Jose’s Westgate Center, the newest store celebrated its debut with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by local city officials and live entertainment including lion dancing and robot dancers, plus giveaways.

San Jose residents can now explore T&T’s thousands of products spanning Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Southeast Asian, and other Asian cuisines, alongside T&T’s popular in-store bakery, prepared foods, fresh produce and private label offerings.

Customers can also order items online at tntsupermarket.us for express local delivery.

San Jose won’t be the only Bay Area store for T&T. The retailer plans to open a Millbrae location in the winter of 2026. T&T is also scheduled to debut stores in San Francisco and Newark next year.

In addition to T&T, the San Francisco Bay Area is home to fellow Asian grocer Osaka Marketplace. Osaka operates three Japanese supermarket locations in Fremont, Pleasant Hill and Foster City. The company is also launching Sakura Market, a new Japanese specialty market in downtown San Jose. Offering a fresh take on Japan’s iconic konbini convenience store experience, Sakura will hold a soft opening on June 24 with the official grand-opening celebration taking place on July 24.

H Mart, another Asian supermarket chain, also operates several locations in the Bay Area.
