Pillsbury Canada's Safe to Eat Raw Cookie Dough

Pillsbury Canada has made slight modifications to its beloved, refrigerated raw cookie dough to make it safe to eat before baking. The General Mills-owned brand is making its refrigerated cookie dough with heat-treated flour and pasteurized eggs, killing the bacteria that can cause foodborne illness in the raw product. Pillsbury says the recipe itself hasn't changed, only the tweaks to those ingredients, so the cookies should taste the same once they've been baked. The company is transitioning all of its refrigerated cookie dough products to "safe to eat raw" by the end of 2020. Pillsbury Canada's Safe to Eat Raw Cookie Dough in chocolate chip is currently available in the refrigerated section at grocery stores across the country.
