Pinterest forecasts food trends for 2024

Ooey-gooey food fusions and tropical escapism are poised to trend in 2024, Pinterest predicts in its annual forecast.

The social media giant released its not-yet-trending report ahead of the new year today (Dec. 6). 

The Pinterest Predicts report analyzes the billions of searches made on the platform each month – covering food, beauty, fashion, entertainment, hobbies and more.

When it comes to consumer cravings, the company forecasts melty mashups like “burger quesadillas” and “pizza pot pies” to rule kitchens in 2024 – specifically for gen X and boomers.

Trending searches include: pizza pot pie (+55%), gummy candy kabobs (+170%), carbonara ramen (+165%), cheeseburger tacos (+255%) and burger quesadillas (+80%).

Elsewhere, a thirst for escapism has boomers and gen Zs turning to the tropics across food, home decor and fashion. Trending searches include: pineapple mocktails (+70%); crushed pineapple upside down cake (+50%); and Hawaiian sheet pan chicken (+35%).
