Premier Ford celebrates Ontario's independent grocery workers as 'heroes'

Grocery store employees have been essential during the COVID-19 pandemic--keeping shelves stocked, disinfecting carts and baskets, and helping to ensure shoppers have access to the essentials they need. Ontario Premier Doug Ford says these workers are, in one word, "heroes."

"These are unprecedented times and I want to thank each and every person who is working in our independent grocery stores across this province," Ford says in a 60-second video, addressing members of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG).
