Protestors in Canada and abroad rally against GMOs

March Against Monsanto protests held in 52 countries and 436 cities

Organizers say “March Against Monsanto” events were held in over 50 countries and some 436 cities, including Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver (among many other Canadian locations).

Some people argue GMOs cause negative health effects and damage ecosystems.

Health Canada, for its part, says that in 12 years of careful study, it has not found evidence to support the claim that GMOs are harmful.
