Construction on the Real Canadian Superstore in Buffalo Run is set to start in 2025.

A new Real Canadian Superstore is headed for Alberta.

In its first-ever collaboration with an Indigenous community in the province, the Loblaw Companies banner has announced plans to open in Buffalo Run, located west of Calgary.

The community village is part of Taza Development Corp.’s 1,200-acre development in Tsuut’ina Nation, called “Taza.”

Shoppers will find an extensive selection of groceries, household goods and general merchandise at the Real Canadian Superstore.

Construction is set to start in 2025, with a projected opening date in 2026.

“Taza is where culture, opportunity and community come together in a meaningful way. We are so pleased to invest in this innovative development and bring fresh, delicious food options and excellent customer service and be part of this growing area,” Jonathan Carroll, SVP, Superstore Operations at Loblaw Companies Ltd., said in a press release.

Upon completion, Buffalo Run—one of three community villages within the overall development—will offer 390 acres of retail, dining and recreation experiences.

Taza will house more than 700,000 square-feet of retail.

Taza Development Corporation is a partnership between Tsuut’ina Nation and Montreal developer Canderel.
