Recipe app Yummly partners with Instacart

Users will be able to choose recipe and have ingredients delivered to their doorstep

It's a match made in home chef heaven. Yummly, a leading recipe app has teamed up with grocery delivery service Instacart. Now, when users scan through and pick one of the recipes available on Yummly, they can opt to connect to the Instacart app where the recipe ingredients will be matched with products from their local store. Users pick a preferred delivery time, and a trained Instacart shoppers will then select the ingredients and bring it to the shopper's door. Yummly has over 15 million active monthly users and is the top recipe app on iOS and Android devices. "We are quickly becoming the top of the funnel for food inspiration," explained Dave Feller, founder and CEO of Yummly in a release. "A logical extension of our platform is making food-related commerce seamless, efficient and immediate." Instacart currently operates in 15 U.S. cities, and a senior executive with teh San Francisco-based startup told Canadian Grocer Canada is "absolutely" a possibility for expansion.
