Grocery Innovations Canada, the grocery industry's premiere show will take place September 30 and October 1 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The annual trade show and conference is organized by the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers, which represents more than 4000 independent grocery retailers, across Canada.

This year's theme, "The future is here today," will feature a panel on e-commerce with Tom Furphy, a former VP with AmazonFresh.

Exhibitors include food and consumer product manufacturers, equipment, technology and service providers, food processors and more.

Last year, there were more than 4,700 attendees to GIC.

The two-day event ends with the Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year Awards gala, which celebrates Canadian independent grocers from coast to coast.
