Rexall appoints Ron Wilson as president
Rexall has tapped Ron Wilson as its new president and CEO. Wilson will lead the pharmacy retailer through its next phase of growth and transformation, according to a press release. He starts March 2.
Wilson succeeds Nicolas Caprio, who will continue with the company as a member of the board of directors. He will support the leadership transition through the end of March.
As part of his mandate, Wilson, who was most recently president of Best Buy Canada, will focus on advancing Rexall's pharmacy-first strategy to community care and health services.
Rexall operates 370 pharmacies across Canada and employs about 7,800 people.
"I'm honoured to join Rexall at an important moment of growth for the business," said Wilson, in the release. "Rexall is a trusted name for Canadians, and I'm excited to work alongside the pharmacy teams to empower their expertise, enhance performance, drive growth, and continue improving how we support customers and patients."
With pharmacy at the heart of Rexall’s strategy, Jeff Boutilier, currently senior vice-president, store operations & pharmacy, is also appointed chief operating officer.
