Non-GMO product innovations are increasing as consumers seek healthier eating options
The market for non-GMO food and beverages is heating up, according to a new report.
Global sales of non-GMO food and beverages are forecasted to rise to $800 billion by 2017, according to Packaged Facts' Non-GMO Foods: Global Market Perspective.
Last year, non-GMO products accounted for 8% of overall food and beverage sales, reaching $400 billion.
There are 10 countries that represent two-thirds of the non-GMO product innovations from 2009-2013. Russia (15%), the UK (10%) lead the way.
