Who: Save-On-Foods

What: The Pattison Food Group grocer’s 29th annual Charity Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking $1 million in support of five children’s hospitals across Western Canada, surpassing last year’s record total of $810,363.

When the silent auction closed at dinner, the total had already surpassed $925,000. Pattison Food Group President Jamie Nelson announced the company would top up the total, bringing the final donation to an even $1 million.

Held at the Northview Golf & Country Club in Surrey, B.C., this year’s tournament brought together more than 350 golfers from Save-On-Foods supplier and partner community.

Funds raised through the tournament will support children’s hospitals in the provinces Save-On-Foods serves:

  • BC Children’s Hospital (British Columbia)
  • Alberta Children’s Hospital (Alberta)
  • Stollery Children’s Hospital (Alberta)
  • Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba (Manitoba)
  • Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (Saskatchewan)

“What we’ve raised this year is truly remarkable and reflects what’s possible when our community comes together with a shared purpose,” said Nelson in a statement. “Thank you to our supplier and business partners, team members and community members. Reaching this milestone, $1 million for children’s hospitals, shows that by coming together, we can make a real difference.”
