Scientist unveils first test tube meat

The synthetic, edible meat was created from animal stem cells

A Dutch scientist has created a lab-grown burger using animal stem cells that will be cooked in London next week.

It took two years for scientist Mark Post to create synthetic, edible meat.

The meat, made of animal stem cells, is being called a kinder, greener way of producing meat by Post.

However, the test tube meat is costly. The burger that will be served in London next week for taste testing by the public costs more than $340,000 and some 8 months to produce.
