SIAL announces 2020 Innovation award winners


SIAL Canada announced the winners of its Innovation Awards this week as part of its virtual conference and trade show.

The annual awards program recognizes companies showcasing innovative new food and non-food products. Here are the 2020 SIAL Innovation winners:


Gold: Art Kombucha--a gluten-free beer fermented using the yeasts and bacteria of Kombucha.

Silver: Idéal Aluminium's 100% compostable hot chicken container.

Bronze: LOC Industries for its vegan herbal butter.

Meanwhile, La Fromagerie l'Ancêtre took home the Organic award for its fondue made with organic L'Ancêtre cheeses and organic Quebec beer La Léonne.

And, Top Glaciers Inc. was recognized with the Packaging award for its selection of six organic sorbets (lemon, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, mango and pear) that are sold in recyclable containers.
