Sobeys CFO departs for outside position

Sobeys announced that Paul Jewer, chief financial officer of Sobeys, will be leaving the company effective February 14, 2014.



On Tuesday, High Liner Foods said it has appointed Jewer its new chief financial officer. He replaces Kelly Nelson who is retiring in May.

Jewer has held senior finance roles at Sobeys for 11 years. He joined Sobeys Inc. in 2003 as VP finance & treasury. He was appointed CFO in October 2011.

François Vimard, executive vice president of Sobeys and CFO of Empire, will assume Jewer's responsibilities on an interim basis.

“Paul has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of Sobeys over the past 11 years and we wish him well as he prepares to take on a new role,” said Vimard.

A permanent replacement has not been announced.
