Sobeys gets red carpet ready

If you ask Sobeys about what makes for a great Oscar party, it's not what about what you're wearing, but what you're eating that counts.

In anticipation of Sunday night's Academy Awards ceremony, Sobeys promoted tips and recipes for shoppers looking to throw a glamorous Oscar party.

A "snacking with the stars" microsite highlights several food-inspired awards categories, including Best Appetizer in a Leading Role and Best Snacks in a Supporting Role.

Sobeys' marketing team enlisted the help of a digital agency that produced a one-minute stop motion video the retailer shared earlier this week on its Facebook page and YouTube channel. The red carpet-themed spot, featuring a wrap interviewing a series of other food items, including a caesar salad, a BLT and a polenta, up for Best Actress.
