The National Confectioners Association's Sweets & Snacks Expo promises to be even bigger and better this year.
The show, which takes place May 20-22 at Chicago's McCormick Place, is the largest confectionery, cookie and snack trade show in North America with over 620 exhibitors from countries all over the world.
This year organizers expect 15,000 attendees to check out more than three acres of candy and snacks and expect the largest global participation in the show's history. Companies from 23 countries have secured booths or pavilions on the show’s floor.
The secret to the show's success?
"We reinvent every year. We find out what our exhibitors and attendees want. We really listen to their needs - and we design a whole new show each time," said Jenn Ellek of the NCA. This year, there are more cookie and snack companies than ever before, aligning with current food trends.
Some of the highlights from this year's show include a keynote presentation by Tony Hsieh, CEO of online retailer Zappos, the New Product Showcase, as well, as the Shopper Solutions Theatre - which will feature merchandising ideas.
Sweets & Snacks Expo will also feature a "gourmet marketplace" with the newest premium, organic and natural products along with tasting and demonstration areas.
