To get Canadians thinking turkey and planning their Thanksgiving celebrations early, Think Turkey has launched a national advertising campaign that aims to instill national pride and welcome more people into the Thanksgiving tradition.

Canadian Thanksgiving is a celebration of the harvest, and with more shoppers expressing a desire to support local farmers, Think Turkey enlisted a mutigenerational farming family to put a face and voice to the over 500 Canadian turkey farmers who help put Thanksgiving turkeys on our tables.

New 30- and 60-second ads invite Canadians onto the Brubacher’s family farm and follow their family as they prepare their Thanksgiving feast, while sharing what makes Canadian Thanksgiving great. The ads launched on September 13 and will run nationally on TV and online for four weeks in the lead up to Thanksgiving.

“Thanksgiving is one of our family’s favourite moments of the year,” said Ontario turkey farmer, Colin Brubacher. “The great thing about Canadian Thanksgiving is that it’s truly a celebration of the harvest. There’s less fuss and distractions. Just family and good friends gathering around a table with a delicious Canadian turkey at the centre.”

In addition to the 30- and 60-second spots, Think Turkey will encourage Canadians to serve turkey this season and support local Canadian Turkey Farmers through in-store, PR, programmatic placements, social, search and creator marketing activations.

The Thanksgiving campaign is part of a five-year integrated marketing program focused on engaging primary meal planners, women aged 25-54, to drive year-round demand and increase overall consumption of turkey.
