The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce, after 21 cases of illness were reported in three provinces.
Investigations are being conducted in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador, where individuals became sick last month. Ten people have been hospitalized and many of the individuals who became sick reported eating romaine lettuce before falling ill.
The outbreak is still under investigation as public health officials try and determine the source of the romaine lettuce the effected individuals were exposed to. Public health notices will be updated as the investigation evolves.
