Loblaw Companies Limited is piloting PC Express pick-up stations at three Toronto subway stations, allowing customers to pick up their online grocery orders on the commute home.
The grocer is working with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to offer the service at Finch, High Park and Islington stations. Orders placed by 11 a.m. will be available for pick up between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Weekend pick up is available between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the High Park station when orders are placed by 9 a.m.
"PC Express will make Toronto commuters' lives a little bit easier by putting their groceries right on their transit route home," said Herman Paek, senior vice-president, Loblaw Digital, in a press release.
"As we cover the GTA with easy grocery pick-up and delivery options, we're helping our customers live their lives uninterrupted, spending more time doing the things they love," said Paek.
Lobular has sharpened its focus on digital over the last 18 months, including expanding PC Express. Available across 670 grocery stores, Shoppers Drug Mart locations and six GO transit stations, the company’s PC Express click-and-collect pickup service is only 10 minutes away from 75% of Canadians.
