Tree of Life Canada ups Patrick Heffernan to COO

Tree of Life Canada has promoted Patrick Heffernan chief operating officer.

Heffernan – previously EVP of sales, brand development and procurement – brings more than 25 years of retail and foodservice experience, including roles at Sobeys, Metro, Rexall and Recipe Unlimited.

At Tree of Life Canada, he will oversee sales, operations, foodservice, brand development and IT.

The executive will continue to report to Lisa MacNeil, president of Tree of Life Canada. 

MacNeil said the change will allow the company to focus on its strategic vision, including the expansion of its 800,000 square-foot Mississauga distribution centre, supporting its national foodservice broker partnerships and onboarding the recent acquisition of Legacy Distribution.
