United Grocers Inc. (UGI) has hired Tressa Scorziello as its director of business development.
Scorziello starts May 16 and replaces Kevin Hayes, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Scorziello brings years of industry experience to the role. She started as a cashier at her father’s No Frills at the age of 14 and worked her way up to customer service manager.
In 2008, she moved to Loblaw, where she held various roles including analyst, assistant category manager, and pricing and promotion manager.
In 2016, Scorziello joined Longo’s as a category manager, and was promoted to acting director, grocery, dairy, frozen in January 2019, the same year Canadian Grocer recognized her as a Star Woman in Grocery.
