UNFI Canada launches new division, UNFI Produce

Distributor to merge its organic produce operations with its UNFI Canada grocery capabilities

UNFI Canada is merging its Pro Organics operations with its grocery capabilities in one distribution centre under a new division called UNFI Produce

The Western Canada-based produce distributor said the process is underway, with plans to add 30,000 square feet to its distribution centre in Richmond, B.C.

UNFI expects the transition, which will occur in phases, to be fully complete by summer 2023.

"UNFI Produce will not only streamline our internal operations, but more importantly, it will provide our customers with a wider range of products and services, as well as improved efficiency and customer service,” said Stacey Kravitz, president, UNFI Canada, in a statement. “We are confident that this merger will greatly benefit our valued customer and supplier partners, and we look forward to continuing to provide them with the highest level of service and satisfaction."
