New York-based supermarket chain Price Chopper has announced plans to invest $300 million renovate and rebrand stores under the name Market 32.

The renovations are expected to take place over the next five years

The new name references 1932, when the family-run company was founded by Bill and Ben Golub.

The U.S. based chain has no affiliation with Sobeys' banner of the same name. While a few Price Chopper locations still remain in Canada, most have been converted to Sobeys' FreshCo banner.
