Vegan groups target dairy farm on social media

One farmer's noble efforts to share behind-the-scenes images of his day have been thwarted by hijackers.

Andrew Campbell, an owner of a dairy farm in Middlesex, Ont. started the new year by sharing photos of his farm the the livestock on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #Farm365.

Good morning! Today is a milk test day. As we milk the cows this takes a sample from each cow that will be tested for milk quality. Great to have individual results from each cow to determine herd health. #farm365

Unfortunately vegan groups from around the world took over the hashtag to publicize their own messages, chastising the use of animals for food.

Fellow farmers and supports of Campbell were quick to defend him, noting regulated agricultural practices and compassion for producers.
