Venture Communications--the Calgary-based marketing agency led by entrepreneur and Dragons' Den judge Arlene Dickinson--has appointed Dan Strasser to the role of VP, executive creative director. He starts Oct. 30.
Hiring the advertising vet signals a strategic shift within the agency "to meet the growing needs in the food and beverage, health and wellness, and agriculture business sectors," according to a press release announcing Strasser's appointment.
In his new role, Strasser, who spent more than two decades working at such agencies as DDB Chicago, Leo Burnett Zurich and Bensimon Byrne in Toronto, will lead Venture's creative business development and growth.
Strasser will also oversee creative out of District Ventures Marketing, a marketing arm that focuses solely on the food and beverage and health and wellness brands supported by District Venture's accelerator and venture capital fund.
