VIDEO: Craft brewers and grocers meet over drinks
Last Thursday, Ontario Craft Brewers held an event at Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto to let craft brewers meet some new clients: the grocery stores that the Ontario government has allowed to sell beer.
Brewers exhibiting at the event had the chance to meet with buyers from Walmart, Loblaw, Metro and Sobeys, as well as a host of independents including Longo's, Farm Boy and Coppa's Fine Foods.
"The opportunity that the government has given us to sell beer in grocery stores is an absolute game changer," John Hay, president of Ontario Craft Brewers, told Canadian Grocer.
