United Grocers Inc. held its annual dinner on Oct. 24 at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel.
The master of ceremonies was Jim Ralph, a radio personality. Anthony Longo, president and CEO of Longo's and a member of the board at UGI also kicked started the evening along with UGI president Denis Gendron.
There were several supplier awards handed out. The Partnership, Most Valuable Performer award was presented to Kruger Products; the Innovation Award went to Kraft Canada; the Best New Supplier, Grocery Award went to Boulder Brands; the Best New Supplier, Fresh Award was given to Fresh Express; the Best New Supplier, Services and Equipment went to TD Merchant Services; and the Best Private Label Supplier went to Lassonde.

There were several special awards handed out as well. The Special Recognition, Important Partner/Supplier award went to Steve Maddeaux, Old Dutch Company while the Special Recognition, Important Member Contribution went to Sandy McPherson, Co-op Atlantic.
