Vince's Market helps local seniors 'rekindle connections'
Who: Vince’s Market
What: To help combat social isolation among older adults during the pandemic, the Ontario-based grocer hosted COVID-safe parties as part of a campaign it’s calling #ProjectSmile.
Vince’s provided an assortment of custom party trays to three retirement homes: Chartwell Alexander Muir (Newmarket/East Gwillimbury), Shobrook Gardens (Uxbridge), and Kingsmere Retirement Residence (Alliston/Tottenham).
Each home was given a selection of custom party platters, which were funded using resources from Vince’s Community Support Fund in addition to customer donations.
“Social activities are a powerful tool against loneliness, and there’s nothing like good food – and good company – to rekindle some of the connections that may have been lost during the pandemic,” said Giancarlo Trimarchi, partner at Vince’s, in a press release. “We are pleased we could provide what was needed for these long-overdue celebrations, and thank our customers for contributing as well.”
