Walmart Canada launches Mastercard rewards card in Quebec

Walmart Canada has launched its Walmart Rewards Mastercard in Quebec.

The no-fee credit card tallies rewards in dollar equivalents rather than points. Cardholders earn 1.25% on their purchases in Walmart Reward Dollars for every dollar spent with the big-box retailer. Additionally, cardholders will earn 1% of their purchases in Walmart Rewards when shopping anywhere else Mastercard is accepted. Walmart Reward Dollars can be redeemed in $5-increments at cash.

"The Walmart Rewards Mastercard gives Quebec residents the ability to earn big rewards for their everyday spending and redeem them on a wide selection of items in-store and online," said Terry Mathews, vice-president of financial services for Walmart Canada, in a press release announcing the program.

The card was introduced in 2010 and is now available in all provinces.
