Walmart Canada is offering financial relief to its small business partners and suppliers "to get money into their hands and back into the Canadian economy" as quickly as possible.
In a statement on its website, the big-box retailer said it would accelerate payment to small suppliers and service providers over the next two months to help them through the COVID-19 outbreak. Starting Monday, Walmart said it would reach out to these company partners and arrange payment within the next 14 days.
"During this uncertain time, Walmart Canada is committed to helping our valued small suppliers and service providers--businesses that create thousands of jobs across the country," the statement reads.
Additionally, Walmart will waive rental fees for the next two months for its in-store business partners including nail spas, hair salons and food service providers.
