Walmart grocery pickup coming to Calgary

4/7/2017

After successful launches in Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton, Walmart is expanding its grocery pickup service to six locations in Calgary.

The $3 service allows customers to place orders at Walmart.ca up to 21 days in advance. A minimum order of $50.00 before tax is required.

"Families in Calgary are busier than ever and we want to make everyday life easier for them," said Daryl Porter, vice-president of omnichannel and online grocery at Walmart Canada, in a release.

"Customers in Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton are finding the service to be very appealing. We think that Calgarians will appreciate the time and money that Walmart.ca Grocery Pickup saves them."

Grocery has been a key area of growth for Walmart as it tries to steal market share from the country's largest food retailers. The discount retail giant recently introduced grocery delivery within select regions of the Greater Toronto Area. The delivery service comes with a $10 fee and requires a minimum $50 order, and “all fresh groceries come with a 100% satisfaction, money back guarantee."
