Walmart online grocery pickup launches in Quebec

Free service available at seven locations in the Montreal area
9/12/2017

Walmart Canada is expanding its free online grocery pickup service to seven locations in the Montreal area.

The retail giant introduced the grocery pickup service in Ottawa in 2015 and has since expanded it to stores in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Calgary and Edmonton. Similar to other markets, orders are picked in store by dedicated Walmart staff, then brought to customers waiting in designated spaces in the store’s parking lot.

"We know our customers want to save money and time, without compromising on the quality of their food products. For us, it is essential that our customers have a convenient and easy shopping experience that meets their expectations and fits their lifestyle," said Cyrille Ballereau, vice-president of operations for Eastern Canada at Walmart Canada.

Last month the retailer announced it would drop the $2.97 pickup fee, saying customers shouldn't have to spend more than necessary when shopping at Walmart.
