Walmart to open new Supercentre in Hamilton, Ont.

Three additional stores are set to open in Alberta and Quebec

Walmart Canada plans to open a new Supercentre in Hamilton, Ont., in early 2027.

The new 140,000 sq. ft. store will be located at Lime Ridge Mall and will feature a full grocery department, expanded home, electronics and apparel sections and a Walmart pharmacy. The location will also offer customers online order pickup and delivery  options .

The new Supercentre is a part of Walmart Canada’s $6.5 billion investment over the next five years to expand its stores and supply chain footprint.

The Hamilton location follows the opening of new Supercentres in Port Credit and Oakville, Ont., and the opening of its ambient distribution centre in Vaughan, Ont. 

Three additional Superstores are slated to open over the next two years in Fort McMurray, Alta., Sherbrooke, Que., Tsuut’ina Nation, Alta.

“As the City of Hamilton continues to grow, this new Supercentre will help us to better serve our local customers through a convenient store location and expanded ability to serve the area through our delivery service,” said Shawn Fujiki, senior director, real estate, Walmart Canada.
